Summary:
Responsible for developing and overseeing the tax function for Cubic and managing a wide range of tasks critical to the effective operation of the tax organization. As a departmental leader, the Senior Director possesses expert knowledge in order to review and analyze tax provisions, financial statement disclosures, direct and indirect tax returns and various tax planning activities. In addition, the Senior Director will direct day-to-day tax operations and promote connectivity with colleagues across the business through a proactive, outward reaching tax department. This role will develop and supervise tax managers and staff to ensure adherence to departmental timelines, maintain compliance procedures and controls. This position typically works under limited supervision and direction. Incumbents of this position will regularly exercise discretionary and substantial decision-making authority with potential significant impact to the organization. Essential Job Duties and
Responsibilities:
Provides leadership and strategic guidance to the Tax Department Interacts and advises global business units by serving as a subject matter expert on tax related matters. Leads team in preparation of all US tax filings (income, sales and property taxes) related to the Company's operations. Provides overall management of the preparation and review of tax accounting in accordance with ASC 740 and FIN 48 Prepares or reviews and concludes on analysis of complex issues, including tax accounting issues and other transactions with potential significant impact to the organization. Provides tax support for M&A activities, including managing tax due diligence and tax planning. Connects with colleagues across the business to resolve issues, develop strategies and improve processes. Leads team in the design and implementation of improvements in tax processes that are aligned with corporate compliance and planning initiatives. Leads US controversy audits and supports foreign tax controversy, as required. Performs and directs tax research as required. Develops and maintains in-depth knowledge of federal, state, and foreign tax developments that may be relevant to the Company Acts as a key player in the Company's global tax management and planning. Works with outside tax advisors on key strategic projects and tax planning initiatives, as required. Performs supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable law. Minimum Job Requirements:
Four-year college degree in accounting or tax required plus a minimum of fifteen years of multinational corporate tax experience with a blend of Big 4 and corporate public experience. CPA certification required. Advanced degree in Taxation preferred. Must have in-depth knowledge of US GAAP tax accounting rules and pronouncements. Must be proficient with tax provision software and other tax technology. Must have intermediate/advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel. Requires strong business acumen and analytical skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills and a proven record of the highest level of personal integrity. Must be a team player and possess a strong dedication to providing quality service. Must be attentive to detail, accuracy, and the ability to use judgment to make sound decisions. Must have strong organizational skills and the ability to take ownership and work autonomously. Ability to be flexibility and work to meet tight timelines is crucial.
Salary Range:
$250K -- $500K+
Minimum Qualification
Corporate Finance, TaxEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
