, a consolidated facility management service, is seeking a Chief Building Engineer for one of its sites located in San Diego, CA.
In partnership with the entire U.
S, Facilities, Inc.
, the Chief Building Engineer will work to meet the on-going maintenance demands of the team to assure a high level of professionalism regarding all portfolio maintenance requirements, including timely response to and resolution of any client requests or concerns.
The Chief Engineer is responsible for overseeing and supervising the safe operation and maintenance of the facility utility systems and equipment assigned to the campus.
Responsible for the operating and maintaining the property's exterior and interior facilities including HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and general equipment.
Responsibilities include:
Providing leadership, direction, and supervision for the engineering teamPlanning, scheduling, and coordinating the work of the engineering teamSupervising the team's response to emergency eventsAssisting team members to carry out maintenance dutiesEssential Duties:
Manage and lead team of Building Engineers and Maintenance TechniciansResponsible for maintaining the entire facility including physical building structure, all mechanical, electrical, HVAC systems and related equipment.
Responsible for preventive maintenance and upkeep of the facilityMonitor life safety systems and utilitiesProvide coaching, direction and leadership to employees in order to achieve portfolio, company and client resultsPromote and maintain a positive working environment in alignment with US Facilities valuesConduct regular team meetings and safety trainingsDevelop and implement the preventative maintenance program for the portfolioEnsure scheduled inspections are completed and turned in on time; perform inspections on assigned propertiesEnsure noted items on inspection checklists which require additional follow up are resolved and/or communicated to the Senior Account DirectorProvide feedback Senior Account Director regarding needed repairs, special services, etc Ensure routine and scheduled maintenance are completed (e.
g.
change HVAC filters, rebuild faucets, fix toilets, clear roof drains, etc.
); perform these tasks on assigned propertiesRead and interpret manuals, constructions drawings, diagrams, and work orders to perform required maintenance and tasksMaintain quality appearance of property to US Facilities and client's standardsParticipate in property tours or meetings with clientsPartner with contracted vendors and ensure quality of work performed by themReview, monitor and/or draft scope of services/specifications for contracted servicesPartner with management to develop specifications for contracted services Provide direction or supervision to contracted vendors and contractors ensuring quality of work is completed as expectedRespond to and resolve client service requests (e.
g.
running toilets, leaking faucets, etc.
)Provide excellent customer service by interacting in a professional and positive manner with clients, vendors, coworkers, etc.
Support and participate in annual operating and capital budgeting process as requestedUse a variety of hand and power tools following all safety practicesEnsure a safe, clean work environment is maintained and that all safety procedures are being followedEnsure that all accidents and any potential safety hazards are reported immediatelyAdditional
