Summary:
PLNU is looking for an experienced, visionary, and passionate leader to advance the mission of the Center for Justice and Reconciliation (CJR).
The CJR seeks to proactively face the injustices in our world - including human trafficking, racial and immigrant oppression, and unethical consumption - with courage and hope.
The Executive Director is responsible for setting the Center's vision and strategy, providing leadership and direction for the Center's operations, programs and personnel, establishing and maintaining fruitful relationships for the benefit of the Center, and serving as a community engagement officer for the university.
Salary Range:
$100,000 - $115,000 per yearInternal Classification:
Career Track - Manager; Job Level - 4This is an in-person position.
The Executive Director is expected to provide consistent and professional leadership, both on campus and at Center events.

What You'll Be Doing:
Organization Mission and Strategy - Leadership:
Establish the vision as the lead strategic creator to fulfill the mission of the Center through impactful initiatives and community outreach, including responsibility for strategic planning, program development and implementation, and enhancement of the university's partnerships in the community.
The Executive Director understands that the vision of the CJR is rooted in the university's mission as an institution of higher education in the Wesleyan tradition, affiliated with the Church of the Nazarene.
Organization Operations:
Hire and retain competent, qualified staff, facilitating the professional development of the Center management team, fostering collaboration, and maintaining a strong culture that retains staff and supports the university's mission.
Financial Performance and Viability:
Responsible for the overall fiscal integrity of the Center including the development of annual budgets, management of accounts, and revenue generation through fundraising and the development of other revenue streams.
Community Relations:
Maintain and enhance the engagement of the university with the community, with a focus on developing partnerships that address community disparities in ways that align with the university's mission.
The Executive Director is also responsible to develop and maintain relationships with government, public and private entities in support of the Center's various priorities.
Board Management:
Collaborate with the administration on the formation and development of an Advisory Board that includes diverse participants that represent the community.
Physical Requirements:
Work is primarily sedentary and may require sitting, standing, bending, stooping, etc.
for extended periods of time.
Use of computer equipment:
computer keyboard, mouse, and monitor.
Ability to read and compose documents, e-mail and other correspondence, and reports.
Ability to communicate effectively with others in person and by phone.
Ability to travel to locations throughout San Diego for building relationships critical to the mission and sustainability of the Center for Justice & Reconciliation.
Ability to travel for conferences, speaking engagements, and other opportunities focused on furthering the Center for Justice and Reconciliation's mission.
