We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Payroll Business Systems Analyst in our Accounting Department located in San Diego (Torrey Pines), CA.
DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Performs various Payroll Accounting functions.
Assists with all system related efforts to include, but not limited to, SAP, BI, CATS and Auto-Time.
Supports monitoring and maintaining the current timekeeping system interfaces between SAP, CATS and Auto-Time.
Acts as a liaison between business computer systems and the information systems technical staff to interpret needs into specifications for computer/system implementation, plan and coordinate processing schedules, develop and modify output reports, establish priorities for task completion, and define/modify/update interfaces between other internal and external computer systems.
Compile, prepare, review, reconcile and correct the data between all systems to ensure accuracy of data collected.
Performs detailed and complex analysis of labor and payroll data.
Analyzes, validates, and develops business process requirements.
Develops system requirements, techniques, and controls.
Prepare business process flows and make recommendations/propose solutions.
Support Payroll Accounting Group reconciling payroll data vs labor costing (ZPAYCO), processing payroll, tax filings, and timecard audits.
Responsible to complete payroll labor account reconciliations (Schedule L) Prepares timely and reliable periodic summaries of accounting records and data.
Conducts special studies and analysis and prepares required labor and accounting data for assigned projects and/or programs.
Functions in an advisory role and provides guidance to less experienced staff.
Maintains the strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
Performs other duties as assigned or required.

Job Qualifications Typically requires a bachelor's degree and ten or more years of technical experience working with computerized financial, accounting, purchasing, payroll, human resources, manufacturing, or other business related systems.
May substitute equivalent experience in lieu of education.
SAP, CATS and Auto-time experience is preferred.
Strong competency in Excel and Word and desire to learn new systems.
High degree of accuracy and attention to detail Must have a positive attitude, be committed to excellence and customer service.
Team-player able to organize multiple tasks of varying priorities and meet critical deadlines.
Must demonstrate an extensive understanding of accounting theories, concepts and principles and experience demonstrating a broad application of those concepts as well as a thorough understanding of generally accepted accounting principles, cost accounting standards, and FAR.
Must possess leadership skills including organizing, scheduling, and coordinating work assignments to meet project milestones or established completion dates.
Ability to identify issues, analyze and interpret data and develop innovative solutions to a variety of complex problems.
Excellent analytical, verbal and written communication skills to accurately document, report, and present findings.
Excellent interpersonal skills to influence and guide all levels of employees, including management and senior external parties.
Ability to contribute to the development of new processes or systems and communicate new concepts.
Ability to represent the company as a knowledgeable resource on external projects; and The ability to work independently or in a team environment.
Able to work extended hours and travel as required.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
