Principal Financial Analyst

Job DescriptionPrimary PurposeThis is a highly specialized position which performs a full spectrum of financial analysis and reporting, leads project management activities and drives system implementations to support Sempra Infrastructure (SI) Treasury department in day-to-day operations and the execution and development of new projects and initiatives.
Responsibilities include reviewing contracts, developing new or improving existing processes, establishing controls, reviewing forecast updates, and proactively partnering with the business lines, accounting, planning, and Sempra Corporate cash management and tax teams.
Prepares capital calls and distributions to partners, and designs reports using Power BI, using data analytics and other tools to perform or facilitate ad-hoc analysis required by internal or external parties.
On a variety of projects and/or assignments will act as an SI corporate lead working with cross-functional teams.
The role requires the ability to manage several concurrent projects, assignments, and activities as well as a strong desire to collaborate with others in the organization and motivation to deliver results effectively and on time.
Duties and Responsibilities Leads screening and review of key contracts, identifying implications and potential issues impacting Treasury operations, establishing processes and controls to ensure a successful transition when projects move to final investment decision (FID) and to commencing of operations.
Oversees project management activities to implement new systems, reporting tools, and initiatives to support the business growth and development opportunities.
Leads the preparation of capital calls and distributions to partners and other ad-hoc analysis as required by internal or external parties.
Supports manager on the review process and analysis of forecast, changes on assumptions and validation of variances.
Prepares a full spectrum of financial analysis and reporting; support the integration plans for Sempra Infrastructure Treasury functions.
This position will manage several concurrent projects, assignments, and activities.
Effectively partners with various departments and corporate functions including Corporate Planning, Tax, Cash Management, Accounting, Legal, and external parties including investment banks, legal and accounting advisors, in order to advance the implementation of new projects to operational phase.
Prepares presentation materials to Sempra Infrastructure and/or Treasury Management.
Performs other duties as assigned (no more than 5% of duties).
QualificationsRequired Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related Business Administration field or equivalent years of training and/or experience.

years of relevant experience in accounting, project management and/or financial analysis.
Reliable team player, able to multi-task and respond rapidly to requests for frequent changes.
Intellectual curiosity and desire to deepen understanding of industry fundamentals.
Advanced skills in use of technology, including reporting tools.
Leadership and teambuilding, organizing, planning, coordinating, and effective delegation skills.
Strong communication and presentation skills, with experience in Microsoft PowerPoint.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build internal relationships to achieve business unit objectives.
Project Management skills and experience on leading projects involving multidisciplinary teams.
Requires knowledge of accounting methods and techniques and the ability to apply both in problem solving.
Preferred Qualifications MBA or other advanced degree in Finance, Economics or related field.
Bilingual in English and Spanish.
Experience with financial analysis and modeling.
Professional certification (CPA, CMA, etc.
