The Program Manager of ATOD (Alcohol, Tobacco and Other Drug Prevention) provides broad programmatic direction and management.
The Program Manage will guide development and ongoing support of interns/staff and community and research partner efforts related implementing tobacco related disease research efforts.
This position provides technical assistance and support to the community to promote and implement research efforts.
This position is funded the Tobacco-Related Disease Research Program under a subcontract with San Diego State University.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND
Responsibilities:
Work to promote collaboration and leadership in the target communities by engaging community members, business leaders, and agencies in the development of unified goals, objectives, and strategies.
Establish and promote community participation in prevention activities, leadership, ownership, and decision-making.
Work collaboratively with all participating agencies and community collaborations to develop and maintain subcontracts, written memoranda of understanding, protocols, and all necessary information for planning resource coordination for prevention activities.
Work with interagency work groups to solve problems, find new ways of integrating services and promote institutional change.
Establish and maintain positive working relationships with participating agencies, referral sources, and other community groups.
Establish and maintain current, accurate, and confidential records, statistical data, and outcome monitoring systems for purposes of reporting, contract management, etc.
Prepare and deliver written and oral reports to the funding sources, collaborators, and community groups; Perform contract coordination and accountability, staff supervision, development and training and other resources for collaborative partners.
QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience and Certifications):
Bachelor's Degree in Public Administration, Psychology, Public Health, Education, Social Work, Business or related field.
Minimum of 2 years of relevant leadership experience in an agency providing prevention services in a community setting.
Fully vaccinated against COVID-19 Experience with alcohol, drug and violence prevention strategies, community development, media advocacy, and community organizing principles.
Experience managing in a collaborative environment.
Experience in working with and respect for diverse cultures.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Demonstrated effectiveness in building and managing collaborative efforts, skills in budgeting and administration, experience working with at-risk youth, and experience in public speaking and presentations.
Excellent supervisory and facilitation skills, coaching, supporting, and developing staff and collaborative partners.
