As a Building Engineer specializing in plumbing for a life science account, your role will primarily involve managing and maintaining the plumbing systems within a life science facility. You will be responsible for ensuring the proper functioning, safety, and compliance of all plumbing infrastructure and equipment.
Key
Responsibilities:
Plumbing system maintenance: Oversee the regular maintenance and inspection of plumbing fixtures, pipes, valves, pumps, and other related equipment. Perform preventive maintenance tasks, such as cleaning, lubricating, and repairing plumbing systems to ensure optimal operational efficiency and minimize downtime. Troubleshooting and repairs: Diagnose and resolve plumbing issues, such as leaks, clogged pipes, malfunctioning fixtures, and water pressure problems promptly and efficiently. Coordinate and execute repairs, replacements, or upgrades as needed, in compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and safety standards. Compliance and documentation: Maintain accurate records of all plumbing maintenance activities, repairs, inspections, and compliance-related documentation. Ensure compliance with relevant local, state, and federal regulations, as well as industry standards and best practices. Emergency response: Respond promptly to plumbing emergencies, such as water leaks, burst pipes, or equipment failures, and take appropriate actions to mitigate damages and restore functionality. Maintain emergency response protocols and coordinate with relevant stakeholders during contingencies. Tenant support: Collaborate with tenants or occupants of the life science facility in addressing plumbing-related concerns, providing technical guidance, and offering solutions to optimize their operations. Establish strong working relationships and effective communication channels to ensure client satisfaction. Energy efficiency: Identify opportunities for energy conservation within the plumbing systems, such as optimizing water usage, reducing energy consumption, or implementing eco-friendly technologies. Develop and execute initiatives to promote sustainable practices and achieve efficiency targets.
Qualifications and skills:
  • Strong knowledge and experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems, including pipes, fixtures, pumps, and water treatment systems.
  • Familiarity with relevant building codes, regulations, and industry standards, specifically related to plumbing systems in life science facilities.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose plumbing issues accurately and efficiently, employing effective problem-solving techniques.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical diagrams, and manuals.
  • Strong attention to detail, with a dedication to quality workmanship and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, facilitating effective collaboration with stakeholders, tenants, and colleagues.
  • Familiarity with energy-efficient and sustainable practices in plumbing systems would be advantageous.
  • Preferred knowledge of water treatment systems: Monitor and maintain water treatment systems, including filtration, purification, and disinfection systems, to ensure the delivery of high-quality, clean water for the life science facility. Perform routine testing and analysis of water samples, making necessary adjustments to chemical dosages or system settings.

Estimated compensation for this position is:
65,000.00 - 80,000.00 USD per year
The pay range listed is a total compensation range including bonus, if applicable. The provided range is an estimate and not guaranteed. An employment offer is based on applicant's education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, internal equity and alignment with market data.
