Wireless Charging Signal-Processing Engineer

SummaryPosted:
Role Number:
200541516The Wireless Power Technology team is pioneering new ways of charging your devices. Our flagship product's name, the MagSafe charger, says it all. It is magnetic, it charges fast, and above all, it is safe! Bringing all these aspects together requires careful orchestration of electromagnetism, passive and active electronics, state-of-the-art safety algorithms, communication over inductive links, and, of course, an appealing product design. Our products touch millions of lives each day with consistency and dependability. Ever wonder how we achieve this? We rely on rigorous engineering design principles and a data-driven approach to predicting performance across a range of operating conditions.
We are looking for a hands-on application architect who will design, integrate and ship next-generation communication architecture for inductive charging products. This role will have broad exposure to a variety of features, and have the opportunity to define charging experience for a number of products.
The successful candidate will possess strong command of EE fundamentals spanning digital signal processing, digital communication and modulation theory, analog and power circuits. They will be fluent in simulation and modeling tools (SPICE, MATLAB, C, Python). They will apply their skills to develop new architectures for future applications of wireless charging. They will be responsible for ensuring that new technologies are successfully developed and productized, by closely working with product-integration teams.Key QualificationsDigital signal processing, and digital communication theory (e.g., digital filters, FFT, sampling theory, modulation schemes),Basic circuits and circuit simulations (e.g., RLC circuits, op-amps, ADC, diodes, FET's, SPICE, Cadence),Hands-on hardware bring-up and debugging, and Scripting and software tools MATLAB, Python, C.Description Participate in the development of innovative, new digital communication architectures for inductive links,
Drive implementation of the design and verify the implementation,
Develop and own analog/digital simulation models of communication modules,
Bring-up, debug and optimize the design over the full range of operating modes,
Provide quantitative predictions of expected failure rates of prototype designs,
Troubleshoot and analyze failures, throughout the product development cycleEducation & ExperienceBS and a minimum of 3 years relevant industry experiencePay & BenefitsAt Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range.
