Burns & McDonnell has an exciting opportunity in our Transmission and Distribution Group for an Underground Cables Project Engineer.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
Providing technical leadership, direction, and support for Underground transmission and distribution design teams on projects ranging from 4.
8kV to 500kVMentoring, coaching, and developing team membersServing as the primary technical point of contact for the clientImplementation of quality control processesSupporting proposal developmentLeading coordination and communication of project requirements and schedule needs across disciplinesIdentification and communication of technical risks associated with projectsOversight of production work required to meet deliverable milestonesIdentifying, developing, and communicating processes and tools to increase efficiency across team and departmentCreating, improving, facilitating and teaching training courses to the project team and departmentOther duties as assigned.
The ideal candidate will be able to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external clients as well as provide technical leadership, guidance and instruction to project teams.
QualificationsBachelor's degree in engineering from accredited program.
Minimum of 7 years related underground design experience (completion of master's degree in related field may be substituted for one year of experience).
Professional engineering license (PE) preferred.
Ability to effectively lead project teams.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Experience in scheduling and budgeting.
Consulting or utility experience preferred.
Compensation Range $140,000 - 220,000The expected compensation range for this position is displayed in compliance with all local/state regulations.
The expected compensation range for this position is based on a number of factors, including but not limited to:
individual education, qualifications, prior work experience and work location.
The total annual compensation package will consist of a base salary and eligibility to participate in our discretionary year-end incentive bonus program.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
