Rohde & Schwarz USA (RSA), the US subsidiary for our global company based in Munich, Germany, is looking for a highly motivated Protocol Application Engineer in the San Diego, CA area. As an Application Engineer at RSA, you ll provide solutions to the complex problems faced by engineers and scientists designing and building today s most advanced wireless applications. Working alongside our sales, marketing and R&D teams, you will be demonstrating products, providing training, developing new features on our test solution and delivering technical support to our wide-ranging customer base throughout the US. By functioning as a consultative solutions provider, our Application Engineers are often treated as an extension of the customer s internal technical teams. Your tasks
Technical consultant for wireless protocol testing supporting
customer R&D labsConsultant to customers creating test plans and test methods for
4G/5G wireless protocol technologiesDevelop, integrate and support wireless protocol test casesReview 3GPP Protocol SpecificationsSupport customers on site, mostly in USA but occasionally in Asia
or Europe as per project demands.Be a part of global Application Engineering team, actively
contribute with ideas on product and process improvements
Your qualifications
B.A./B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent educational certificateExperience in Python and object-oriented programmingExtensive experience working with mobile communications protocols 5G NR, LTE Physical Layer, Layer 2, RRC, NASExperience in data centric protocols eg. TCP/IP, SIP/SDP, RTP, RTCPProven ability to learn new concepts quickly and deliver under pressureExperience working with test equipment including radio communications testers, spectrum analyzers and signal generatorsExcellent verbal/written communication and customer interfacing skillsDomestic and International travel up to 10-15%To be considered, candidates must have US citizenship or permanent work authorization.

The range is determined by the position, geographic location and level.
