Core I/O and Sensors group is part of Core OS organization and is responsible for firmware, device drivers and frameworks related to sensors, human interface devices and I/O technologies like USB, Thunderbolt, DisplayPort and accessory connectivity & management. This is a highly entrepreneurial team, always looking for innovative ways to improve status quo and solve difficult problems in new and better ways.
We are looking for someone who can lead the charge on quality of various Core I/O and accessory management technologies. Successful candidate will need to work with cross-functional teams across Apple to proactively develop and drive overall test planning, execution and quality reporting for various areas of responsibility. The nature of the position requires the candidate to possess excellent communication and problem solving skills, along with a drive to make a difference. The ideal candidate will be highly technical, creative, motivated, and results driven.Key QualificationsSolid OS fundamentalsExperience with Python and C programmingHighly motivated, creative, and organizedStrong verbal and written communication skillsProven ability to ramp up quickly on new and existing technologiesDescriptionOwn overall testing and quality for I/O technologies:
Thunderbolt, USB, PCIe, and Ethernet
Design, develop, and own automated tests for new and existing technologies
Investigate and analyze issues spanning across the hardware and software interaction layers
Work closely with engineering and project management team to ensure quality releases
Education & ExperienceBS in Computer Science/Computer Engineering/Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience/skillsAdditional RequirementsPreferred:
Experience with developing, testing or debugging device drivers, firmware or other low level softwareKnowledge/experience with OOP principlesExperience in working with I/O technologies (USB, PCIe, Display technologies etc.)Knowledge/experience with Unix shell or other scripting languagesPay & BenefitsAt Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $131,500.00 and $243,300.00, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple s discretionary employee stock programs. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
