Industrial Electrician

Job Description
Working with minimal supervision, Industrial Maintenance Electricians work on the electrical distribution system and the equipment that is associated with the plant site, building and facility related systems.
Employees in this position:
Install, maintain, test and repair electrical systems, equipment, and electrical components of buildings, industrial facilities and associated facility equipment.
Use knowledge, electrical codes, manuals, schematic diagrams, blueprints, sketches and other specifications to perform work. However, they may work without instructions or documentation. Employees may plan and document layouts for wiring, conduit, buss bar, circuits and electrical components. Employees may produce schematics, sketches or other documentation to record accomplished work.
Employees may be required to determine proper wire / component size and load limits for electrical circuits.
Install wiring, conduit, buss duct, transformers, breakers, switches, line monitoring and conditioning equipment to supply electrical power to machine tools, facility systems and facility equipment.
Diagnose, test, repair or replace malfunctioning facility electrical equipment, such as transformers, switchgear, circuit breakers, facility related motors, facility equipment controls, lighting systems and lighting fixtures.
May program computer controls for facility related equipment and systems such as, HVAC, air & gas compressors and lighting.
In support of manufacturing production machines and equipment, employees connect or disconnect line voltage from motors and main control cabinets.
May communicate directly with manufacture's technical or engineering support to resolve electrical system related problems.
Employees must have the skills and knowledge to perform this work in a safe manner in compliance with published codes and manufacture's recommendations.
Use hand-tools, power tools, electrical and electronic test equipment.
Use maintenance information system to receive work assignments and to document work accomplished.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years experience using power tools and other equipment to perform basic carpentry, electrical, mechanical, heating, plumbing, painting and other repairs and maintenance
Experience working in industrial environment
Experience using general repair tools and equipment
Preferred Qualifications
