Mechanical Engineering Manager (Mechanical Systems)

Manages all phases of assigned engineering project(s) from inception through completion. Participates with technical staff, program managers and/or Division/Group executive management to develop and implement current, annual and long-term technical, schedule, quality, business and financial objectives for the unit. May also contribute to the development of annual and long-term objectives for the Division/Group. Objectives are typically accomplished through subordinate engineering team leaders. May be responsible for decisions that impact the unit where erroneous recommendations could cause schedule delays and allocation of additional resources.
DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Lead activities for engineering project(s) including planning and managing technical performance to ensure quality, business, and financial objectives are attained.
Implement current, annual and long-term technical, schedule, quality, business, and financial objectives for the engineering unit and may also participate in the development of Group/Company objectives.
Participate in and coordinate the establishment of design concepts, criteria, and engineering efforts for product research, development, testing, and integration.
Interact internally with engineering team and/or with suppliers, vendors or customers to share information and for basic problem resolution. May act as primary contact for engineering activities.
May participate in the preparation of proposals, business plans, proposal work statements and specifications, operating budgets and financial terms/conditions of contract(s).
Ensure technical leadership and excellence is maintained by participating in the planning, attraction, selection, retention, and development of the required management, professional, and technical talent.
Lead progress review sessions to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance.
Identify engineering issues and provide leadership in developing solutions such as re-allocation of resources or modifying contract specifications.
May participate in the development of new business opportunities and expansion of existing business opportunities.
Manage the development of and ensure the security of the unit's proprietary technology, and maintain the strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
Responsible for ensuring all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations are observed wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.
Responsible for ensuring work is accomplished in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.
Other duties as assigned or required.
Typically requires a Bachelors, Masters or PhD in engineering or a related technical field as well as nine or more years of progressively complex engineering experience with at least three of those years having management responsibilities.
Must have a thorough understanding of engineering concepts, principles, and theory; experience demonstrating a broad application of those concepts; and expanding knowledge of principles, concepts, theory, and practices as applicable to electronic packaging for the defense industry
Must possess the ability to develop and communicate new concepts; apply them accurately throughout an evolving environment; organize, schedule, and coordinate work phases; and, determine the appropriate approach at the task level or, with assistance, at the project level to provide solutions to a range of complex problems
Must have strong communication, computer, documentation, presentation, and interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team; able to perform complex tasks in one or more engineering areas; capable of representing the organization as a prime technical contact and leading a team of moderately experienced professional employees on single component projects

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
