Brand Manager, Graphic Designer, & Creative for Maya Jewelry

Maya Jewelry is a global, cutting-edge jewelry brand working primarily from within the high-end piercing and tattoo industry. Over the past twelve years Maya Jewelry has developed a cult-like following, adorning and working with many celebrities such as Beyonce and Kat Von D, creating a robust social media presence with over 90,000 Instagram followers, and never ceasing to be an innovator and influencer in our industry. We are currently located in San Francisco, and will be moving to San Diego in the coming months.


We are seeking a full-time Graphic Designer and Creative Assistant who is comfortable with inside sales to help us grow our brand through innovative design, branding, marketing and social media. This newly-created position will offer a varied array of responsibilities in a dynamic and friendly environment, and is perfect for an enthusiastic individual who is excited about driving sales by connecting with clients, developing new relationships for the brand, and growing our social media presence and brand identity through clever marketing and beautiful, edgy, on-brand graphic design.


We're looking for a quick learner with an outgoing, magnetic personality, a keen eye for design and detail, and the ability to understand and emulate the brand's design aesthetic as well as bring innovative and fresh ideas to the table. This position should be available to travel to San Francisco for training, be comfortable training remotely, and be open to helping us establish and grow our new San Diego office.

Responsibilities will include, but aren't limited to:
Work with the Owner/Designer to understand, emulate and contribute to her creative vision across the brand.
Create and implement effective marketing strategies, including social media, newsletters, and print, that improve and expand upon our current marketing practices.
Curate engaging, cutting-edge social media content across a variety of platforms. Actively monitor social media trends to formulate new, fluid campaigns on a day-to-day basis to create viral content.
Write error-free copy for emails, social media and new products, adhering to an on-brand voice.
Monitor social media analytics and Google Analytics, be able to report on successes and areas for improvement, and adjust strategy accordingly.
Design and create all visuals for the company, ranging from social media campaigns and print ads to tangible marketing merchandise such as display stands and t-shirts.
work with existing customer base by building and maintaining trusted relationships, and expand our customer reach through innovative ideas for lead-creation and researching new opportunities.
Take orders, primarily over the phone but also online and in person, making the most of each engagement as a sales opportunity.
Oversee and manage external vendors and employees working on complex and time-bound projects within a budget.


Requisite Skills & Experience:
At least two years of relevant experience
Experience with sales in some capacity, and enthusiasm for interacting with clients.
Cutting-edge and dynamic graphic design skills and vision, proficient in graphic design tools.
Expert knowledge of Instagram and Facebook, and social media data tools (such as Facebook Ads Manager).
Ability to take direction, multi-task, problem-solve, and self-manage projects to completion. Must be comfortable working independently.
Experience finding creative ways to accomplish big things with a modest budget.
Comfort with technology and willingness to learn new platforms/troubleshoot technology issues.


Bonus:
Experience working with responsive e-commerce models and familiarity with e-commerce best practices.
Experience in and a passion for fashion, art and/or jewelry.
Experience working within the tattoo and piercing industry, with an online retailer, or high-end boutique.
Hands-on experience running a brand
Experience with 3D Design (CAD) programs
Photography and/or videography skills
InDesign experience

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
