Community Relations Officer

In this position, you will become a key member of a team of Community Relations Officers in a pivotal role from day one. Your primary purpose will be to plan and maintain working relationships and open communication between Department of Homeland Security (DHS), U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and the communities in which it operates to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the ICE mission. As a Community Relations Officer you will perform the following duties:
Developing and maintaining key relationships and promoting agency policies, initiatives, operations and programs with ICE stakeholders and throughout the community; Developing, supporting and maintaining partnerships with federal, state, and local agencies to identify specific community needs and appropriate delivery and channels for service; Working as part of a team to coordinate ICE's ongoing participation and attendance at local, regional, and national meetings/conferences; and Analyzing and disseminating reports and statistics within the area of responsibility and other existing communication channels. You qualify for the Community Relations Officer position if you possess one year specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the federal service performing duties such as:
Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with community organizations for the purpose of receiving and disseminating information on immigration enforcement and/or investigative matters; Assisting in determining the need for and developing information materials related to on immigration enforcement and/or investigative matters; Supporting senior leadership in developing and managing strong networks both internal and external to the organization; Participating in and facilitating discussions and presentations for the purpose of promoting programs and initiatives related to the agency policies, and procedures; and Providing assistance and/or guidance to organization leadership, public officials and local communities in identifying appropriate communication channels, techniques and strategies Qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Current or Former Political Appointees:

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
