Safety Technician

General DescriptionThe Safety Technician I supports and assists the Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager in planning, implementing, and coordinating safety and environmental programs in accordance with written regulations, procedures, and policies.
DutiesTest workplaces for environmental hazards, such as exposure to radiation, chemical or biological hazards, or excessive noise.
Verify availability or monitor use of safety equipment, such as hearing protection or respirators.
Supply, operate, or maintain personal protective equipment.
Evaluate situations or make determinations when a worker has refused to work on the grounds that danger or potential harm exists.
Maintain all required environmental records and documentation.
Assists the EHS Manager as required.
Education/Experience requirementsAS or certificate in EHS field of study.
Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects.
Knowledge of laws, legal codes, court procedures, precedents, government regulations, executive orders, agency rules, and the democratic political process.
Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective local, state, or national security operations for the protection of people, data, property, and institutions.
Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.
This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
