Balboa Park (hiking and biking trails) and golf course are several blocks away where you can go to the wonderful museums or see a play at the Old Globe theatre. Close to all major attractions like the San Diego Zoo, Sea World, Legoland, Sea Port Village, San Diego's World Famous Wild Animal Park, and much more. Some of the most beautiful beaches in Southern California are within 15-20 minutes by car. Starbucks is steps away, while Giorgino's Cheese steaks as well as excellent Mexican food at Gloria's is just around the corner. The local market, also steps away, has a very good wine and beer selection. The many restaurants, bars, and art galleries of South Park start 5 short blocks south of the cottage. A San Diego landmark, The Turf Club, is three blocks West on 25th Street and so is Luigi's Pizza, which has been repeatedly featured on the Food Network. An undiscovered jewel is the Balboa Park Golf Course with its clubhouse only 5 blocks away. This course was established during the heyday of golf course design in the nineteen twenties. It is a municipal course and is well maintained with mature landscaping. Even if you don't golf, go for a lovely breakfast at the clubhouse and enjoy some of the most gorgeous views!
